For those who can't wait for a volume of my collected short stories (maybe around 2019 or 2020) I have several new ones coming out this summer.
First up is, “Boffo,” inexplicably being presented in two parts, but available online for free at http://hollywooddementia.com/nikki-finke-fiction-boffo-part-one-by-daniel-m-kimmel/#more-10462. The second half will appear tomorrow. (I have several other stories at Hollywood Dementia if you've missed them.) It's about the ultimate movie PR campaign.
In July my story “Space Opera” – taking a somewhat different look at the genre – will be appearing in Science Fiction Stories for the Throne: One Sitting Reads. It will be out in July.
And just this week I learned that “You are What You Eat,” which reveals the truth about vampires, has been accepted for It Came from the Boiler Room, a collection of darkly humorous tales. It is tentatively set for an August release.
A reminder: My latest novel, Time on My Hands: My Misadventures in Time Travel, has been well-received and is available from the usual suspects online and through order at your local bookstore.
And for those wondering if they're missing any of my books, here's one that I hope will keep some future graduate student busy trying to track down. In July a volume I edited (and contributed to) will be released by the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs (FJMC): One Step Ahead: The FJMC Influence on the Conservative/Masorti Movement – A Festschrift written in honor of Rabbi Charles Simon. What's a “Festschrift?” You can look it up (I had to) or you can read my preface to the book.
